Landis Memorial Scholarship Recipients
August 2025
Shelley Aukett from Sydney, Australia
Congratulations to Shelley Aukett as the first recipient of the Landis Memorial Scholarship. Shelley is the owner of Paws and Think Animal Training.
She and her dog Jeddah live in Sydney, Australia. Shelley is soon to be a CNWI with the NACSW. Upon receipt of the news that she was selected, Shelley said:

“Thank you so much for your generosity and the continual love for the free spirit of Landis. I genuinely feel honored.”
“Being chosen as the inaugural Landis Scholarship recipient was a deeply rewarding experience. It acknowledges the importance of canine nose work not just as an activity, but as a welfare-focused approach that supports emotional regulation and confidence for all those guardians and dogs who are looking for a way through some of the challenges we
see everyday. The scholarship strengthened my commitment to ongoing education and advocacy in this space.”
Congratulations Shelley! We’re delighted to have you in our CNWI program!

December 2025
Debra Roseman of Pennsylvania
Congratulations to Debra Roseman for being the second recipient of the scholarship! Here is what she had to say about it:
“I am sincerely grateful to be selected as the recipient of the Landis Memorial Scholarship. This honor motivates me to continue expanding my education in special-needs dogs, and I am deeply thankful for the support as I pursue nose work as a powerful tool to help behaviorally challenged dogs thrive.”
March 2026
Carey Garvey of Scranton, Pennsylvania

“I am truly honored to be selected to receive the Landis Memorial Scholarship. I will use the skills and knowledge I have gained through NACSW to continue my work with dogs who need extra time, patience, and confidence- building to truly thrive. Through thoughtful training and compassionate handling, I will create an environment where each dog is allowed to progress at their own pace, celebrating small victories along the way. By advocating for these dogs and tailoring my approach to their individual needs, I aim to help them blossom into capable, confident partners both in sport and in life.”
