Recertification Requirements for Lapsed and Terminated Instructors
Lapsed and Terminated Instructors
(within 6 months of recertification date)
If you are overdue and have a recertification date (due date) within the last 6 months:
Please contact the Continuing Education Department at ceu@k9nosework.com to resolve your status. Steps will include:
- Pay the $75 re-certification fee via the portal-generated PayPal invoice.
- Pay the $75 late fee
- Purchase needed recorded webinars and earn CEUs (password to be provided at time of purchase) or submit approved external events for CEUs.
Lapsed and Terminated Instructors
(More than 6 months past your recertification date)
If you are overdue and have a re-certification date (due date) that is beyond 6 months:
Please pay the $150 reinstatement fee in addition to selecting one of the reinstatement options below. If you have any questions, please contact the Continuing Education Department at ceu@k9nosework.com.
Option One:
- Attend at least days 2 & 3 of Segment 1 of an instructor course weekend.
- Submit video of you instructing an Intro to K9NW class including brief lecture to students, and starting new dogs (a modified version of the original certification requirements).
- Have two students submit instructor evaluations: k9nosework.com/instructor-evaluation-form
- Submit a minimum of 12 CEUs from nose work and/or general dog training / behavior continuing education events attended within the last 3 years of requesting reinstatement.
Option Two:
- Attend all four days of Segment 2 of an instructor course (days 5-8).
- Submit video of you instructing an Intro to K9NW class including brief lecture to students, and starting new dogs (a modified version of the original certification requirements).
- Have 2 students submit instructor evaluations: k9nosework.com/instructor-evaluation-form
- Must have attended an Introduction to K9NW workshop (online or in-person) in the last 5 years.
Option Three (available only to instructors who are within 5 years of most recent recertification date):
- Must have attended an Introduction to K9NW workshop (online or in-person) in the last 5 years.
- Attend Camp or other training weekend as a handler or auditor.
- Submit video of you instructing an Intro to K9NW class including brief lecture to students, and starting new dogs (a modified version of the original certification requirements).
- Have 2 students submit instructor evaluations: k9nosework.com/instructor-evaluation-form
